Setting the record straight

Dear Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to address an article that was printed in the April 25 edition of the Secaucus Reporter. This article discussed someone’s allegation that (in my capacity as a School Board Trustee), I was part of a conspiracy to engage an employee of our school district to meet with the Security Officer of the High School in a seductive manner to investigate a rumor of inappropriate behavior towards high school students. These allegations are absurd, and certainly “not true” in any way shape or form. I have worked very hard over the years to maintain my integrity as a reputable, dedicated volunteer and School Board Trustee. I take offense to these accusations, and find them to be hurtful, irresponsible, and damaging to myself, my family, business, and reputation.
It would be very disheartening to me “if” Ms. Aljallad had made these allegations for God knows whatever reasons, because my relationship towards her was always cordial, considerate, and professional. As for the police officer, it was stated in the article that, according to a source, I “didn’t like him”, and that I treated him “(coldly)”. The truth is that, I don’t know the man. I have never spoken to him, nor would I have any reason to question him because I wasn’t aware of any rumors of inappropriate behavior or his performance as a Security Officer, good or bad.
It is very upsetting to me that before filing with the Hudson County Prosecutors office, in my opinion further investigation could have been done via Secaucus Police Dept. They could have notified Mrs. Randina, School Superintendent, immediately to report these allegations for further internal investigation as to the validity of these baseless accusations. After all, the position of a Security Officer is employed in part by the Secaucus Board of Education on an Inter-local agreement. I would have been happy to have cooperated in any way I can and respond to these allegations.
“In closing”, I want to state for the record that all the statements and allegations against me are false and slanderous. No such discussions, investigations, or conspiracy ever took place. I don’t know why my name would surface on such a ridiculous fabrication. What I do know is that I will do whatever it takes to get to the bottom of this situation, and hold those involved accountable for their words and actions.
I am a current board member of the Secaucus Board of Education whose term is about to expire. This letter reflects my own personal view, and is not written on behalf of the Secaucus Board of Education.

Respectfully,
Frank Trombetta
