Dear Editor:
Reading the article by Tricia Tirella, ‘Layoffs, higher taxes brewing, NB town and school struggle with aid cut’: this article mentions that due to the loss of millions of dollars in state aid for their budgets during the next fiscal year, thanks to statewide aid cuts from Gov. Christopher Christie, this means that an estimate of 50 teachers will get laid off and property taxes are to go up.
We as the residents of North Bergen or any city have been denied the help the government should at least give us for school. We should have an uprising to show that the children in our community should receive adequate education and shouldn’t have to be in a classroom filled with 40 students making it harder for the teacher to teach or help the vast majority of kids in their classroom, and making the education of the children of North Bergen less sufficient then the one of other countries.
