The Hickman triplets, Oliver Marshall, Henry Robert, and Alexander Jack, finally got to go home last week after being born at Jersey City Medical Center eight weeks prematurely. All totaled, they weighed a combined 9.5 pounds at birth.
Parents Kevin and Laura Hickman, Jersey City residents, got an extra bonus (as if three bonuses weren’t enough)! Three specially made child safety seats were donated to the family by
the New Jersey Division of Highway Safety, which funds a local car safety
seat program. The Hickman trips got to try out their new car seats before leaving the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit for the ride home.
The Trauma Prevention Program works with parents to make sure all children leave the hospital in a child safety seat and that the safety seats are installed correctly.
