UNION CITY — A fire on Palisades Ave. in Union City on Sunday had multiple police, fire and ambulance companies responding to a residential building between 13th and 14th around noon.
Vehicles from Union City, Weehawken, Jersey City, and Hoboken were spotted on the scene as officers directed traffic around the area. Groups gathered below in Hoboken as the smoke billowed over the cliffs.
The four-alarm fire leveled a building, damaged two others, and left several families homeless. Several cars nearby were also burned, leaving only metal skeletons.
