Parking abuse? What do you think?

HOBOKEN – A reader complained about a situation that occurred over the weekend when he was helping a friend move in Hoboken. What do you think? Are there reasons to break the rules?
The reader writes:

For obvious reasons I would prefer to remain nameless should you decide to move forward with this article.
This Saturday I was assisting a friend move but hit a major snag. My friend had taken the necessarily steps to ensure that things went smoothly, namely coordinating a moving truck with the police and paying to have signs put up so his movers could park.
As you can see by the enclosed pictures this was clearly not considered when an off duty FBI agent decided to park there and blatantly abuse his/her authority.
To give you a better sense of the problems, one of the moving trucks had to repeatedly move all day, because they couldn’t find proper parking. This was on a popular road frequented often by ambulance, fire trucks and tractor trailers. As a result, it not only was a cause of frustration, but it took the movers almost twice as long. Hence this caused my friend to incur a bill for twice as much.
During this time I made a few calls into the police and to the parking authority. After 3 hours I was finally able to get somebody out to assess the situation. The parking authority informed me that there was nothing that they could do and this kind of problems occurs often.
Many thanks.
