HOBOKEN — A single family townhouse at 1028 Willow Ave. in Hoboken has sold for $2,295,000, the second highest price ever paid for a townhouse in Hoboken, according to the Hudson County Multiple Listings Service. Halstead Property in Hoboken said in a press release that the sale was also the highest price paid for a single family townhouse in Hoboken since April 2006.
The house is a former carriage factory with four bedrooms, three and a half baths, an office, a two-car garage, and an extra parking spot on the street. The residence boasts 12 foot ceilings, custom built-in kitchen cabinetry, and exposed mechanicals from a 100-year-old elevator system, which includes iron pulley wheels and thick steel cables, the release says.
The house also has a garden and roof deck, hard to find in dense Hoboken.
Condos have sold for the same price or higher in Hoboken, including one condo at the tall W Hotel, but single-family homes in town are rare. Right now, a brownstone on Hudson Street is up for sale in Hoboken for $2.5 million. It has five bedrooms and five bathrooms.
