Hudson County foursome charged with stealing lots of panties

HUDSON COUNTY — The Asbury Park Press just reported that four residents of Hudson County have been arrested for trying to shoplift more than $1,600 worth of panties.
The newspaper reported that on Wednesday, the foursome allegedly swiped the undies from “storage bins inside a Victoria’s Secret store [in Monmouth County] after an alert employee called police. The four fled in a 1999 Jeep Cherokee, heading north on Route 35.”
Two patrolmen apprehended the suspects and said there was $1,667 of Victoria’s Secret stuff there, as well as more than $4,000 in other items from nearby outlet stores.
Charged were four people in their early twenties. Two were from North Bergen, one was from Union City, and one was from West New York.
Three of them were held at the Monmouth County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail each, and one was held on $25,000, the paper reported, adding that two of them “were also being held on detainers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”
