Ceremony Thursday for two 50-story towers in JC

JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND — Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy will lead a host of state, county and local officials on Thursday, May 20, 2010 in celebrating the topping off of The Monaco, a $210 million development featuring two 50-story rental towers rising in the heart of Jersey City’s downtown waterfront district facing Manhattan.
Also participating in the topping off ceremony, which marks the construction milestone of attaining the buildings’ highest floors, are principals of Roseland Property Company, Garden State Development, and Hartz Mountain, the joint venture triumvirate developing The Monaco.
The project includes 524 luxury rental residences, a 558-space enclosed parking garage and 11,900 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The development has created 400 construction jobs. Leasing and initial occupancy for the rental residences are expected to commence toward the end of the year.
