John Shinnick keeps chair of HCIA

John Shinnick was re-elected to his third term as chairman of the Hudson County Improvement Authority at their Feb. 9 reorganization meeting. Shinnick, who has served with the HCIA since 1997, expressed his desire to continue the progress in maintaining one of the lowest solid waste disposal costs in Northern New Jersey and promoting environmental awareness. “We are making a significant difference in keeping Hudson County clean and green,” Shinnick said. Along with approving Shinnick as chairman, the HCIA members voted Martin Budinick as vice chair, Loretta McKnight, Secretary, and Jim Byrnes, Treasurer. All are non-salaried positions. The HCIA is an autonomous public agency that oversees solid waste management, recycling, affordable housing and transportation management in Hudson County.
