A funeral mass was offered June 4 at St. Francis R.C. Church, Hoboken, for Lena Vitale. She passed away May 30 in the presence of her family at Meadowlands Hospital in Secaucus. She was a lifelong Hoboken resident. Mrs. Vitale was a telephone operator for more than 15 years at the Hoboken City Hall, retiring in 1981. Surviving are her two sons, Matthew M. Cannarozzi and Susan, and Michael M. Cannarozzi and his wife Arlene; her very special grandchildren, Matthew, Raphael, and Regina Lee; and her step sons, Michael, Billy, and Joseph Vitale. Lena was predeceased by 11 siblings: Catherine Licalsi, Angelina Giaquinto, Stella DeSomma, Mary Cospito, Margaret Bucco, Helen Gerrante, Phil, Joseph, Matthew, Michael, and John Della Fave. Mrs. Vitale was predeceased by two husbands, Emil Cannarozzi and Raphael Vitale. Lena was predeceased by a special step-son Raphael Vitale Jr. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
