Let’s be Frank: Winners announced in ‘Sinatra Idol’ contest

HOBOKEN — A large crowd gathered for the Frank Sinatra Idol Contest in the park named after the music legend in Hoboken Thursday night.
Staten Island resident David Arellano won first place with his rendition of “My Way.” After an initial tie for second with another contestant, Plainfield, N.J. resident Greg Myers pulled through with an additional song to keep second place, and Rory Aylward, from Astoria, NY took third.
As the tradition goes, the evening ended with all 13 contestants singing “New York, New York” together. In the photo, from the right, Arellano is third, Aylward is sixth, and Myers is seventh.
