A funeral mass was offered June 22 at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church, Hoboken, for Albert J. Piretra, 87. He died peacefully on June 16 at the Cusack Care Center in Jersey City. Born in Hoboken he was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. A retired checker at the local Hoboken piers Albert was a member of International Long Shoremans Association of New Jersey and New York, the Hoboken Elks, and the Veterans of Foreign War. Surviving is his wife Margaret; a sister Mary Marino; and his step-son Thomas Foley and his wife Eileen. A special joy in Albert’s life were his grandchildren, Eileen, Dennis, Michael, and Christine. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by a brother Ceasar and a sister Nancy. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
