Dear Editor:
We like to take this opportunity to thank the voters of Ward 5 District 5 in showing their faith by voting for us, also those who supported us and worked very hard for us.
James and Linda are already working hard to obtain bike racks for the 5th Ward 5th District. We were assured by the proper department head worker, that they are coming soon. Three weeks was the time frame. One at the north end of Clinton Street and the other on the west side of Clinton Street, between 9th and 10th. Hopefully more garbage barrels will be placed on Clinton Street and Willow Ave. from 9th to 10th streets.
However on a different note, we must express our displeasure with the conduct with which the meeting of June 14, 2010 of the Committee reform organization was conducted. The non allowance of a secret ballot was very disappointing to us. The sanction of a secret ballot is the corner stone of our democracy. The reorganization committee in attendance took multiple votes. Secret ballots have been used for many appointments by our governing body.
