HOBOKEN — Police summonsed an older married couple from New York City on Saturday for allegedly shoplifting at the Hoboken ShopRite.
According to the store manager, a 61-year-old man and his 59-year-old wife allegedly paid for some items but then allegedly attempted to exit the store without paying for the rest of the items, which the manager said were concealed under store circulars in a shopping cart.
The manager said that the unpaid for items were two Olay brand products, ShopRite moleskin padding, 12 rolls of Scott toilet paper, and a pack of Soft Paw scented cat litter.
The manager said she has the incident on videotape. The couple were issued a summons and released.
