More GPS units stolen from cars

Weehawken has been hit by many GPS thefts over the years, especially at its waterfront commuter parking lots.
On June 1, a GPS unit was reported stolen from a car on King Avenue. The victim said his 2008 Mazda was parked outside of his home on the evening of May 31. He said that some time between that night and the early morning hours of June 1, someone took the GPS off of the car dashboard. According to a police report, the door to the car was unlocked.
On June 5, another GPS unit was reported stolen on El Dorado Place. The owner of a 2008 Jeep said that sometime between June 4 and 5, the window was smashed and the GPS stolen.
Deputy Chief Jeffrey Fulcher said that residents should always lock their cars and never leave valuables (such as GPS units, or iPods) visible inside of the car. Fulcher added that even the docks and wires that go with these items can be a clue to thieves that valuables are inside.

Curfew check nabs 19-year old for alleged drug possession

On June 7 at 2 a.m., an officer conducting a routine patrol noticed a large group of young males at Boulevard East and 46th Street. The officer approached the group to make sure none of them were breaking the town’s midnight curfew for all residents under 18 years of age.
According to a police report, he noticed Albujar allegedly attempting to hide something and smelled what he suspected to be marijuana.

The person called police and was able to give a description of the people seen breaking into the car and obtain a partial license plate from the gray Dodge Ram that they were driving.
When police arrived on the scene, they found that the car radio had been stolen.
