Hoboken police: Public sex in pool isn’t cool

HOBOKEN — Residents of a building on upper Jefferson Street called police on Friday around 8 p.m. to complain that a man was allegedly having sex with a woman in the building’s pool, while a female acquaintance of theirs watched. A witness told police that the man was intoxicated and was allegedly taking his clothes off, according to the police report.
When police arrived, building officials had escorted the man out of the pool area. Police tried to talk to the man, but he was busy on his cell phone and said, “Wait one minute,” according to the police report. Police said that when they asked him to get off the phone, he started yelling, cursing, and causing a disturbance.
The man, who will turn 23 next week, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Police said that at police headquarters, the man was found to have in his bookbag a 2-liter bottle of Jack Daniels that was almost empty.
The man’s brother, a Jersey City resident, came to get him.
According to the police report, “As [he] was exiting Police Headquarters he apologized to everyone and said ‘I’m sorry I am a stupid drunk [four-letter word].’ “
