JERSEY CITY — Darnell Williams, 19, was stabbed to death outside a fried chicken restaurant on Bergen Avenue around 1 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, not far from Hudson Catholic High School, according to published reports.
Williams’ death makes the 13th homicide in Jersey City this year. It also is the latest in a string of young men killed in the city that has been going on for more than a year.
Some of those killings have been suspected to be gang-related “revenge” killings related to ongoing gang disputes. For more on that, see links below.
Williams was brought to Jersey City Medical Center and died around 11 a.m., according to news reports. Anyone with information should call the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office at (201) 915-1345.
