On Sunday, March 13th, the New Jersey Colonials defeated the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers 6-2 to win the USA Hockey AAA Atlantic District 14U Championship held at the Ice House in Hackensack, New Jersey. The Colonials are now one of the top 12 ranked teams in the United States and will represent our region as they compete for the USA Hockey National Championship at the Pepsi Center in Buffalo, New York on April 7th to 11th.
The Colonials feature four local St. Peter’s Prep Ice Hockey players: Vinny Addeo (Hoboken), Joe Giordano (Jersey City), Alex Gleason (Harding Twp.), and Matt McNally (Chatham). Addeo and Gleason both scored goals in the championship game along with Kevin Labanc (Staten Island), Matt Weiss (Madison), and Ed Haracz (Little Falls).
The Colonials finished the season as the 2010 AAHA (Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association) regular season champions with a record of 23-2-1 (49-17-6 overall) and the 2010 AYHL (Atlantic Youth Hockey League) regular season and District champions. They are coached by Mike Bronzo and Greg Marsh.

Myers, FL), and Matt Weiss (Madison).
The Colonials will faceoff against USA Hockey’s #2 ranked LA Selects (Pacific District), #4 ranked Team Illinois (Midwest District), and #22 ranked Colorado Thunderbirds (Rocky Mountain District) in their first three games at the National Championship. Go New Jersey!
