A liturgy of Christian burial was offered July 16 at St. Christopher R.C. Church, Parsippany, for John J. “Buddy” Grossi, 89. He passed away July 13 at his home. John was born and raised in Jersey City. He lived there until moving to Parsippany in 2003. John served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 until being honorably discharged in 1945. He received a Purple Heart and was a Bronze Star recipient. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 641 in Union. John was a member of St. Christopher R.C. Church and its Experience Club, both in Parsippany. He was predeceased by his wife, Sue in February 1994 and his daughter, Linda Grossi, in 2003. Survivors include his son Nicholas and his wife Ann of Parsippany; his daughter Josephine Norris and her husband Michael of Plantation, Fla; and his three grandchildren Nicole, Michael, and Dante.
