Mayor Mark A. Smith and Joe Waks, director of Municipal Services, have announced that the Recreation Division has begun registration for the Youth Flag Football League.
The League is open to boys and girls from ages six to 13. All participants must be Bayonne residents. Children must be six by Sept. 1, 2010 and cannot be 14 before Nov. 1, 2010. The fee for the Youth Flag Football League is $5 per player. The fees collected will go toward the costs of running the program. The fee is non-refundable. All individuals who sign up will be placed on a team by the Department of Recreation. Individual applications are available in the Recreation Office.
The League will be broken down into divisions based on age. There will be four divisions. Instructional Division I, ages 6; Instructional Division II, 7 and 8 year olds; Instructional Division III; 9 and 10 year olds; Division IV, 11, 12 and 13 year olds. Divisions may change, depending on the final number of participants registered in each Division. Games will be played during the week at 4:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. at Gorman Field.
The deadline for all applications and payment is Friday, Aug. 27. All applications and payment must be returned to Room No. 13 in City Hall. The season is set to begin on Sept. 13.
