Searching for a Guttenberg park promised in a flurry of campaigns

Dear Editor:
The town of Guttenberg continues to search for the park that was promised to us in October 2005. As stated in two articles from the North Bergen Reporter dated Oct. 23, 2005 and Nov. 26, 2006, Guttenberg would receive a new waterfront park. Information indicated that Guttenberg received $1.2 million dollars of grant money to prove that a park was on its way to being built. Our current mayor and council of Guttenberg have shown that, after all of that money was received, and after nearly five years, the town of Guttenberg still does not have a park.
The saddest part to this story is that current Mayor Drasheff promised that a park would be built on New Jersey News 12 on television as he ran for election to become mayor. Our council members have run for election also promising the people of Guttenberg that a park would be built, as indicated by a mailing received during an election for council.
The political members of Guttenberg continue to show everyone that it is time for a change to take place, so that the town may get better. It also appears that an audit by the State of New Jersey is needed to help this town!
