Debate in Jersey City for 9th Congressional District candidates

JERSEY CITY – A debate for the three candidates running for New Jersey’s 9th Congressional District in the upcoming Nov. 2 election will be held Tuesday night in Jersey City.
The debate, organized by the Jersey City good government group Civic JC, will be held in the parish hall at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 440 Hoboken Ave. at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
The three candidates are Rep. Steve Rothman, the incumbent Democrat from Fairlawn; Republican Michael Agosta, also of Fairlawn, and Green Party candidate Patricia Alessandrini, of Teaneck.
The vast majority of the 9th District is in Bergen County but also covers part of the Jersey City Heights and some of Journal Square, as well as part of North Bergen and all of Secaucus.
Moderating the debate are local journalists Ricardo Kaulessar of the Hudson Reporter, Melissa Hayes of the Jersey Journal, and Shane Smith of the Jersey City Independent. – Ricardo Kaulessar
