Warm ups

Question: In high school baseball, while ball is in play, players are getting loose down the third baseline on foul ground without protection. Is this allowed?
Answer: This is permitted provided a player with glove is in position to protect players that are warming up. Protector must have glove but wearing a helmet is optional. (BB – Rule 3, Sec. 3, Art. 4)
Question: In high school baseball and softball, at the start of a half inning, the defensive coach comes out to talk to the pitcher warming up. Is this a charged conference/trip to the mound?
Answer: No, this is not considered a conference because it happened during dead ball period prior to start of half inning. Pitcher has one minute/five warm-up pitches timed from third out of previous half inning. (BB – Rule 3-4-1 & 6-2-2(c); SB – Rule 3-7-1 & (FP)-6-2-5)
