Vote Lenz for continued progress

Dear Editor:
I am writing in support of Mike Lenz’s candidacy for the 4th Ward City Council seat. I know Mike through my work with the last two Hoboken School Board reform slates called “Kids First.” I also worked with him on many of Dawn Zimmer’s recent campaigns. It has been a year of many elections and reform victories, and we are finally seeing long overdue changes in the city and the 4th Ward, but we need Mike to continue these reforms. Mike and I have had numerous conversations over the years about the issues specific to the 4th Ward, our neighborhood in this fine city: flooding, safety on our streets, property taxes, and open space. Now Mike, along with the council majority and Mayor Zimmer, is addressing the following issues in a truly meaningful way: a 5 percent tax decrease, more police on the streets, the 4th Ward flood pump construction, and a real Southwest park. Mike and I are both long-term 4th Ward residents – we chose to make this neighborhood our home. I remember being impressed with Mike when Mayor Zimmer ran for her first time, opposing Chris Campos as 4th Ward councilperson. At the time, Mike struck me as someone who deeply cares about this town and our 4th Ward neighborhood in particular. I now see Mike working tirelessly for everyone as the 4th Ward Councilman. Finally, Mike is a dedicated family man who only wants the best for his wife and three children, as well as all the other families and individuals who call the 4th Ward home. If you live in the 4th Ward, please come out on Election Day and support Mike Lenz for continued progress in Hoboken.
