Thank you from Hoboken Municipal Republican Committee

Dear Editor:
Members of the Hoboken Municipal Republican Committee want to thank our 2010 Congressional election volunteers for their time, hard work, and dedication leading up to and including Election Day. Volunteers contributed by signing up as poll workers and challengers, many for the first time, while others made phone calls, knocked on doors, and handed out campaign literature. We thank them all for their tireless efforts to help Get Out The Vote. Our two candidates, Congressional Candidate Henrietta Dwyer and Sheriff Juan Perez, sincerely appreciate your contributions to their campaigns.
The congressional election marked significant progress for the GOP. Our efforts in Hoboken motivated Republicans to vote in greater numbers. Henrietta Dwyer ran the most successful Republican congressional campaign in the 13th Congressional District since it was last redrawn. Here in Hoboken, we managed to carry a couple of voting districts for the first time in recent memory.
This is an achievement considering that many Republicans living in Hoboken had not previously been consistently and actively involved. In January, we came together to form the Republicans of Hoboken. We registered our organization with the State of New Jersey and lead the way in restoring an active Republican Party in Hoboken. We have filled more Republican Committee seats and increased our involvement and presence at the local level.
While the strides we have made this year were encouraging, there is clearly more work to be done. To join us, or to get on our mailing list, email us at republicansofhoboken@gmail.com.
We extend our best wishes to all of Hoboken as this holiday season approaches.

Diana Davis
Chair, Hoboken Municipal Republican Committee
