Future work in the city

To the Editor:
Mayor Mark Smith blames the contractors for tying up the traffic by starting more than one project at the same. I think our city fathers should share some of the blame. Don’t our city engineers have any say when work will start? I would like to think contractors would be required to notify the city in advance for a job of this size and being so close to the holiday season. Some consideration should also be extended, to shop owners along the avenue.
English Paving did not sneak into Bayonne in the middle of the night to begin tearing up Broadway and Avenue C. More thought should be given in future contracts to give the city more control over future work.
