Dear Editor:
Children, Children of the Council. Tim Occhipinti won. Why did he win? It is easy for me to sit in my chair, overlooking the Hoboken Reporter and tell you why. I’m not mud deep in the thing.
1st, the council forgot who they worked for and treated them like a bunch of idiots.
2nd, They listened to a number cruncher, who had never walked Hoboken streets on Friday night and canned a bunch of police officers.
3rd, They acted as if the concern was just for the people who lost their jobs and their families. It was not. The PEOPLE, (you know, the ones you work for) wanted them. They had walked the streets on Friday night. They had listened to expansion plans. They watched the lines at Cake Boss, in the worst heat….and more. The people wanted their police officers.
4th, Then the council decided to listen to the people in reference to new developments. Someone screamed politics. Well, I hope so!!!!. Isn’t politics supposed to be listening to your district and their ideas. Oh, but there were some ideas that each member was keeping, like 3 bedrooms, but that is another letter.
5th, Making the assumption that the people elected you to be their parent, since you are so smart, you will tell them what is good for them!!!
I could go on and on – tell you about the rental car on the corner and the new, beautiful, silver condo’s going up, where, I assume people will live. They will not drive, will walk the mile to the path, will be the ideal, invisible, new resident. Yea, yea, yea To end this letter, Tim Occhipinti won. No, I am not in his district. I did not vote for him, but I sure understand why he won.
