Funeral services have been held for Kenneth S. Drennan Sr. (ret. Capt. JCFD), 84, formerly of Jersey City, who served the Jersey City Fire Dept for 37 years, 1948-1985, rising to the rank of Captain and was also the Assistant Director from 1977-1981. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He belonged to the Reliefs Association of the JCFD; the retired Ocean County Police and Fire Council 8; and the American Legion Post 348 in Brick, NJ. Kenneth was also a councilman in Pt. Pleasant Boro in 1988. He is survived by his wife Eileen; three sons: Kenneth Jr. (Batt. Chief JCFD), Michael (ret. Capt. JCFD), and James (Batt. Chief JCFD); a daughter Carol Drennan Butler; brother of Raymond (ret. Capt. JCFD), Thomas (ret. Capt. JCFD), Stephen (ret. FF JCFD), Gerald (ret. FF JCFD), Florence Flannery and the late John, Jane Anne Dexter and Frances Drennan; and grandfather of Jessica Carriero, Derek Drennan, Matthew Drennan, Evan Butler, Eric Drennan, Alysa Drennan.
