Funeral services took place Dec. 16 for Michael J. Ackerly, 48, a life-long resident of Jersey City. He passed away suddenly at home on Dec. 12. Michael was an avid New York Giants fan and enjoyed playing golf and billiards. He loved music and played guitar. His greatest love was spending time with his wife and children and enjoyed cooking the family meals. Michael is the husband of Helen; father of Melinda and Nadine Orzechowski and Lauren Ackerly; son of Irene and the late Vincent Ackerly; brother of Thomas, Raymond, Theresa and Vincent Ackerly and the late Patricia Dynes; and also survived by many relatives, friends and loyal pets.
