Introduction: A Year in Pictures 2010

Hudson County is colorful – the people, the politics, the places. And they’re constantly changing. As we document the twists and turns of Hudson County life throughout the year, we also strive to relate the history of the subjects, so that people new to the area can learn about their origins and have the tools to understand what’s to come. But it’s not only words that tell the unique stories of New Jersey’s most densely populated county; sometimes a snapshot says it all.
Thus, we bring to you the Hudson Reporter newspaper group’s first “Year in Pictures” edition. The most picturesque or telling photos from 2010 grace these pages, bubbling with children’s cheer as our youngest residents chow down at local festivals, and displaying officials’ agony as they are handed political defeat. Categories of photos include headline news, sports, entertainment, health, education, and much more.
Look through this special edition, save it for years to come, and submit your own photos throughout the year to the regular Reporter newspapers by e-mailing .jpg attachments to editorial@hudsonreporter.com. For detailed stories on last year’s news, pick up last week’s “Year in Review” edition of the Reporter or go to www.hudsonreporter.com.
The regular editions of the Reporter papers in Hoboken, Jersey City, Weehawken, Secaucus, North Bergen, Union City, West New York, Guttenberg, and Bayonne resume next week. Happy new year!
