HUDSON COUNTY AND BEYOND — Because of the blizzard this weekend, a state of emergency was declared for New Jersey on Sunday night. State Senate President Steve Sweeney made the declaration, as Gov. Chris Christie and Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno were out of state, according to an Associated Press report.
In addition to the state of emergency, NJ Transit bus service was suspended as of 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.
NJ Transit rail service was expected to operate on an “enhanced weekend schedule” Monday, Dec. 27, on all lines except the Atlantic City Rail Line.
