Lincoln High School football team honored by City Council, Board of Education

JERSEY CITY – The Lincoln High School football team was honored with citations by the Jersey City City Council at their meeting on Wednesday and at the Board of Education monthly meeting on Thursday.
The team, coached by former Lincoln High football star Robert Hampton, finished with a 9-3 record after losing to New Providence in the North 2, Group 1 State Championship at New Meadowlands Stadium, in East Rutherford, NJ, on December 4. However, the game was special because it was the team’s first championship appearance since 1981.
Members of the team will also be giving out Christmas gifts for families at an event this coming Thursday at the Booker T. Washington Housing Complex on Colden Street in downtown Jersey City. – Ricardo Kaulessar
