JERSEY CITY – Two women were found dead in a Randolph Avenue apartment building around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 6, and police believe the killer may be a relative.
The two deaths were the 22th and 23th murders of the year in Jersey City.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said it has a suspect in custody and planned a press conference at 10:30 a.m.
These deaths mark three murders over the last three days in Jersey City
On Dec. 1, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said, Tyrone J. Wilson, age 26, of Jersey City sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso. A preliminary investigation found that Wilson was transported to Jersey City Medical Center by private vehicle, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 11:40 p.m.
Jersey City Police Officers discovered there was a second victim of the shooting who was found on the corner of Grand Street and Prior Street in Jersey City. The second victim was shot once in a lower extremity. The victim was treated at the scene and then transported by ambulance to JCMC for additional medical treatment. The victim’s condition is unknown at this time. No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
