Cifuentes duo keep Chargers in win column

At (1-1) after a 76-14 thumping of the Eagles in game one of their JCC of Bayonne Sr. Division Indoor Flag Football double header, the Bengals took to the court to face the (2-0) Chargers. Getting out to an 8-8 draw with the Bengals’ Jack Kruchkowski notching a coast to coast TD on the first play of the game and Chris Ballance adding a two point catch followed by the Chargers’ Aljandro Cifuentes equaling their effort on a TD and two point grab, both squads looked ready to play. With the 8-8 deadlock standing for over ten minutes, the game’s turning point occurred when the Chargers free safety, Chris Caballero, pilfered a Bengals pass attempt and raced 40 yards to paydirt. After tacking on a two point sweep by Aaliyana Cifuentes, the Chargers held a 16-8 advantage and were starting to pick up the steam. As the Chargers’ defense stiffened, their offensive caught fire as Aaliyana Cifuentes galloped full court for two TD’s while Alejandro Cifuentes took to the skies by reeling in a TD and six extra points to put the Chargers up 40-8. As the clock seemed to doom any Bengals comeback hopes, the focus turned to making plays and ending on a high note. After two key 10 yard gains by Jack Kruchkowski and Mariam Rasslan, the Bengals found the end zone as Drew Radil made a leaping TD grab to make it 40-14, Chargers. Taking the QB reins to close out the bout, Kyle Arano quickly drove the Chargers up court with passes to Anthony Fraser and Aaliyana Cifuentes before running out the clock and securing a 40-14 victory.
