Hoboken Board of Education fills seat vacancy

HOBOKEN– The Hoboken Board of Education swore in Mark McNamara during last night’s four-hour monthly meeting.
Mark McNamara was one of four interviewees to fill Monica Stromwall’s empty seat after she resigned last month. She said that her family was moving to Connecticut, as it was too expensive to buy a house in Hoboken and her kids had been sharing a room.
The other candidates for the job were Patricia Waiters, Chetali Khanna, and Matt Peluso.
McNamara was sworn in after a majority vote approved him with board members Peter Biancamano and John Madigan abstaining.
“I wish we had more time to review the applicants qualifications,” said Biancamano.
