Bayonne Elite Cheer, in partnership with Bayonne Special Needs Advocate Elisha DeMaria, has created a Special Needs Cheer Clinic to be held on November 20 at the Bayonne Elite Gym, 14 East 27th St. It will be free for Bayonne residents ages 3-21 with developmental and/or physical disabilities.
The Clinic, the first of its kind ever in Bayonne, will feature One-On-One pairing of an Elite Cheerleader with a child who has special needs. Two, two-hour clinics that Sunday permit one hour dedicated to simple cheers and one hour learning some simple gymnastics (to each person’s individual abilities), all while practicing basic techniques.
Not only has Bayonne Elite Cheer extended this warm welcome to the Bayonne Special Needs Community, but has also pledged that any money raised from this event will go to the Division of Recreation’s Special Needs Sports Program.
Sponsors are wanted. For information on this event or sponsorship information, please contact either: Elisha DeMaria at Elisha.demaria@nyu.edu or Elite at BayonneEliteCheer@gmail.com.
