BAYONNE – A five-year-old boy died Saturday in a five-vehicle crash at mile marker 2.7 on the Hudson Bay Extension of the New Jersey Turnpike, according to authorities. According to multiple media reports, around 7:20 a.m. a Chevy pickup truck rear-ended a Saturn carrying two children and an adult. All three were taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where the five-year-old later died, according to reports from WABC 7 News. The accident is still under investigation.
Mayor James Davis wrote on his Facebook page, “My thoughts and prayers are with the family of the child who passed in this tragic accident. As a father of three boys my heart bleeds for the family of this child. May his innocent soul rest in eternal peace.”
