To the Editor:
On Tuesday, July 19 at 4:30 p.m., I was walking on Kennedy Boulevard getting ready to cross 31st Street at the light. There was a car on the side of Robinson school with its left blinker on. I waited for him to turn, and seeing that the car wasn’t turning, I decided to cross. Suddenly, this car took off at a fast speed and turned, nearly hitting me. In order to avoid being hit, I had to quickly move out of this car’s path and fell onto the street. The man in this car didn’t even have the courtesy to stop to see if I was okay. I should have reported this to the police so that he would receive a summons for reckless driving! However, two very caring people did stop to help me. A man in a gray car stopped to help me up and to ask me if I was okay. A woman in a white car took down the car’s plate number and then drove me to where I was going. I want to thank those two people for their kindness.
