BIENIEK, TADEUSZ “Teddy”

91, of Bayonne, passed away on July 15, 2016. He was born in Zreczyce, Poland, settling in the United States in 1957 where he resided in Bayonne. In 1964, when Ted went back for his first visit to his family in Poland, he met Anna Dudek, whom he married. Ted worked as a cable assembly line operator for Pirelli Cable Corp. (formerly General Cable) in Bayonne until 1980. He then went on to work as a chemical process operator for Chemical Waste Management in Newark for 13 years, prior to his retirement in 1993. As a 16 year old boy, in 1941, Ted was displaced from his family, transported to Germany and survived 4 years in a Nazi labor camp before the Allied Forces occupied Germany. When Ted was released, he worked for the U.S. Military as a civilian performing security details and as a bus driver transporting soldiers between Germany and France. His civilian service offered him the opportunity to immigrate to the U.S. in 1957. Ted is predeceased by his wife, Anna Bieniek (nee: Dudek). He is survived by his son, Thaddeus Bieniek & his wife Agnieszka; sisters, Maria and Jozefa; brothers, Mieczyslaw and Wlodzimierz (all of Poland); and grandsons, Justin and Konrad.
