100 degrees: County OEM releases ‘Hazardous Weather Discussion’

HUDSON COUNTY — The County’s Office of Emergency Management sent out this release for the weekend:
“An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect from Saturday AM through Monday PM for most NJ counties. Heat index values may range from 100°F to 105°F Saturday afternoon.
“The high heat index and poor air quality will create hazardous conditions with potential for health-related impacts. Take precautions to prevent heat stress for the elderly, children, people who work outside and pets. Thunderstorms may bring damaging winds this afternoon and evening. Monitor local forecasts for developing conditions.”
