We should support Bayonne businesses

To the Editor:

For the second time in one week I dined at Mediterraneo Restaurant in Bayonne. As most folks in town know, this restaurant recently changed owners. Even if BCN readers loved the restaurant as it was before (I liked it and ate there from time to time), I hope that they will give the “new” place a try. Today I had paella with both seafood and rabbit and it was amazing — better than the paella I had on a very recent trip to Spain. The appetizer, calamari a la plancha, was also delicious.
Some people in our city tend to frown on anything different from what they have known for 20 or 30 years. This attitude holds Bayonne back–it gives us fewer choices in everything, including good places to eat. This restaurant is of New York City quality or better, and I will continue to support this new business in Bayonne.
