Tasting victory for the first time this season, the now (1-4-1) Penguins were clearly hungry for more as they faced off against the (3-2-2) Islanders in a JCC of Bayonne’s Jr. Division floor hockey showdown. Trading goals in the early going with Megan Feeley (Penguins) and Jacob Kowal (Islanders) hitting their mark all seemed as expected with both squads firing away. All that changed as the Penguins’ Megan Feeley went on a scoring spree by pumping in five more unanswered goals with Harsh Easwar (3 assists), Nicholas DePinto (1 assist) and Logan Mazziota (1 assist) lending a helping hand. Rocked back on their heels, the Islanders faced an uphill battle trailing 6-1 as Elliott Santana, Shawn Agosto and Mariam Rasslan tried to rally the troops and mount a comeback. The valiant effort went for naught as Matt Doyle gave the Penguins’ defense a near perfect performance at net. Capping off the Penguins’ route, Logan Mazziota zipped in the final blow with a scoring gem as the Penguins rolled to a 7-1 victory.
