passed away April 22, 2016 at his home in Bradley Beach. Monk, as he was called, was born in Bayonne, and had resided at the Jersey Shore for 30 years. He had retired from Western Electric and was also a Manager at Lucent Technologies, Newark. Before and since his retirement, he had been a bartender at the Good Time Cafe, The Vic, and many of the local Jersey Shore hot spots, including Bar A, D’Jais, Reggies, Mary’s Husband Pub and most recently at PK Shamrock’s. He was a Drill Instructor in the US Army Reserve during the Vietnam War. He was the son of the late Stanley P. Sr. and Rita (nee: McCann) Monkowski. He is survived by his brothers, James and wife Catherine, William and wife Judi, uncle to Matthew Monkowski and wife Maura, Cara Marlowe and husband Philip, and great uncle to Sean, Seth, and Rebecca. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either Camp Happy Times, 2101 Milburn Ave., Maplewood, NJ 07040 or to a charity of your choice.
