Cifuentes Soars for Blackhawks

After both squads stumbled in their JCC of Bayonne Jr. Division floor hockey debut, the (0-1) Blackhawks and the (0-1) Red Wings hoped to “get off the schneid” with a win. Going head to head in a seesaw duel, the Hawks and Wings fought to a 4-4 half time draw with Aaliyana Cifuentes pouring in all four goals for the Blackhawks while the Red Wings matched that total with three goals by Kaily Delauter and a scoring dart by Christian Benson. Playing at a fast pace, the Blackhawks started to pull away as David Matos drilled in two goals while Cifuentes racked up her fifth goal of the bout to go up 7-4. With seven minutes remaining, the Red Wings went on the attack as defensive stalwarts, William Hulsman and Toni Rivada, bolstered the Wings’ offensive ranks. As the Red Wings poured it on the Blackhawks held the fort as Anthony Baez and Steven Gulli joined forces to secure the Blackhawks 7-4 win.
