Honor Dr. Patricia Bryant

Dear Editor:
On April 13, 2016 we received very sad news about the passing of a Jersey City native Dr. Patricia Bryant, an associate superintendent of our schools at The JCPS district and the head of the Early Childhood Education Division.
Dr. Bryant had been with the school district for 27 years, first as a pre-K teacher at School 12. She’s also worked as a second grade teacher, a supervisor and a principal. She ran the Early Childhood Education Division for ten years.
She was the 2013 recipient of Mother Xavier Award from the Morristown College.
I’m asking our superintendent of schools Dr. Lyles, and city council members, Jersey City Board of Education members and all elected officials to Honor Dr. Patricia Bryant by naming the new school No. 20 facility, which is scheduled to open on the first day of school in the fall of 2016 after her name. Let’s honor our native Jersey City African American leader and sister Dr. Patricia Bryant.
