County rents 25 goats to eat poison ivy

NORTH BERGEN – The Hudson County Board of Chosen Freeholders have approved the rental of 25 goats to clear poison ivy from James J. Braddock/North Hudson Park Bird Sanctuary in North Bergen.
This method was selected to remove poison ivy because it has become a health hazard to the public.
Once the goats eat the poison ivy it is permanently removed and the roots are weakened, making future growth unlikely.
