Dear Editor:
I would like to thank Councilman Frank Gajewski and Councilwomen Diane Coleman and Joyce Watterman for sponsoring an informative community forum on the redevelopment of Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City. The reality is in most urban cities, Martin Luther King Drive is faced with poor quality of life issues. I strongly support change that will provide jobs to local residents, reduce crime, and spur economic growth. The Jackson Hill redevelopment plan provides a great opportunity to improve the quality of life for residents.
It is time for the bickering and complaining to end and support a plan that will help address many socio-economic issues which affect African Americans. Jersey City is on its way to becoming the best mid-sized city in the United States, and we all must work together for positive change in our community.
