A heartfelt thank you to the entire community

To the Editor:

Words cannot express the debt of gratitude for the love and support our family felt this past week in light of the tragic death of my husband Tim O’Donnell and our beautiful five-year-old daughter Bridget Mary Riu O’Donnell on February 22, 2016. I cannot describe the grief and ache I have in my heart for the senseless and untimely deaths of my Best Friend, Husband, Father, and our little Bridie, who would brighten up each room she entered, each face she encountered. Whether you sent a text, e-mail, made a call, made a contribution, made a meal, stood in line at Sweeney’s Funeral Home for the Friday wake to pay respect; sent a note; a Mass Card; attended the beautiful Funeral Mass on Saturday; spoke at the Repast; raised a glass to Tim and Bridie-, your actions were felt, your words heard. People traveled from as far away as Michigan, Florida, Georgia, and Virginia to see Tim and Bridget’s farewell; we thank you.
Tim and Bridie’s deaths will not be in vain. We all must take action when we see an erratic driver, someone traveling excessively, or a dangerous vehicle. Do not hesitate to call 911. You may also use: #77 Aggressive Driver System by dialing #77 to report aggressive driving, which will report your exact location by GPS. Your immediate action could save lives.
My First-Grade Daughter Ali and I will forever feel the love from County Prep, #3 Robinson School, the City of Bayonne, the County of Hudson, Prep Alumni, Rutgers Alumni, and the surrounding New York metro area. Please keep Tim and Bridie in your prayers. Do not soon forget their memory. We will establish a Charity Softball Game in Tim and Bridget’s honor to fund a scholarship for a high-school student seeking a college degree in the Special Needs educational arena. These were Tim’s passion, to which he was dedicated.

With Gratitude,
PAMELA O’DONNELL
