83, husband, father, grandfather and physician, died on February 24 in Bayonne, following a brief battle with cancer. Dr. Gomez was born Aug. 14, 1932, to Eligio Gomez and Antonia Sequeira in Santa Teresa, Carazo, Nicaragua, the youngest of seven children. He married Irene Ziminski on Sept. 4, 1965, and together they raised three sons, of whom they are very proud. After settling in Bayonne, he practiced at Bayonne Medical Center as well as the University Hospital of Newark where he also served as a clinical instructor. He is survived by his wife, Irene; three children, Joseph (Laurie) Gomez, M.D., Stephen Gomez and Michael (Sarah) Gomez, Ed.D.; four grandchildren, Isabella, Zoe, Tessa and his namesake Peter Carlos Gomez.
