After sending a clear message to the rest of the JCC of Bayonne Indoor Soccer Jr. Division with their 11-1 shellacking of the Knights, the Dragons zeroed in on the (3-0) undefeated Wizards. Trading goals in the early going, the Dragons’ Thomas Arias and the Wizards’ Dylan Subacz set the tone for their squads. With Brenden McCall zipping pinpoint passes into the Wizards’ zone, the Dragons slipped out to a 3-1 lead on two more Arias’ goals. Chipping away, the Wizards narrowed it to 3-2 as Nazar Kolesnyk assisted Subacz on his second scoring strike. At the halfway point, the Dragons hit the gas pedal as Arias went on a five goal rampage with Amy Gabrael (4 assists) and Anthony Baez (1 assist) on the assists. Down 8-2, the Wizards regained their winning form as Dylan Subacz pumped in four net gems with William Hulsman (2 assists) and Gage Orlowski (2 assists) notching assists. Still up by two goals at 8-6, the Dragons tried to turn the tide as David Matos stepped up on defense. With their defense reintrenched, the Dragons’ Thomas Arias made it 9-6 with his 9th scoring dart. Needing a quick score, the Wizards got one last shot as Toni Rivada assisted Subacz on his seventh goal to make it 9-7 but that was as close as they could get as the Dragons went to (2-2) with another impressive win.
